Ukas nyhet.

Dear diary, here are some thoughts.

task 1.
I don't get it. I simply don't get why they won't leave them alone. The black people. I'm actually ashamed of calling them that. My dad thinks that it is okay just to look at them like they are piecces of dirt to waiting to get stepped on. The missing civil rights activits have made this town go crazy. We can't even talk to people properly without starting a conversation about how much us white people dislike the ones that does not have the same skin colour as us.

I can't even say my opinion. Nobody can. Except our parents. They seem to know everything when it comes to that case. Yesterday, I walked home from school with some friends, I'm not even sure are if I can call them my friends though. We're not aloud to hang out, and it is obviously because they are black. In fact, I like them more than my other "so called" white friends.  I wish people could see that there is nothing wrong with black-skinned people. There are absolutely no catches. People here in Mississippi just scare them away with anger and violence, which is completely stupid because they have never done anything wrong. I know that I can't make a difference by saying my opinion to the sheriff, I just hope the FBI agents find those civil rights workers and catch the assholes who probably scared them away. On the other hand, the South better be a better place in the future, but for now - all we need to focus on is what tomorrow will bring us. At least I know I will die knowing that I wasn't  bad person. I hope people change their prespectives of other humans around them.

If not, this world will be an awful place to live in. Anyways, I can ramble about this all night long. Goodnight diary.

Meanings about deep ecology.

Deep ecology is based on philosophy and ecology, and was created by Arne Næss. It involves thinking about how we treat our nature and the wild life in it, and it stands for believing that the living enviroment has the same right to live and flourish as us humans.

Therefore to me, what I have read about wild life, pollution and facts about deep ecology seems like loads of silly assumptions about what we humans need to do and how we need to take care of the enviroment. Is it helping though? If you sort your garbage and recycle? If you decide to not take the next plane to London?

Arne Næss made deep ecology so people could care about our enviroment and nature more, instead of hurting it and destroying it day by day. He also thought about the animals and plants, because we all know that they are the ones giving us much of what we need to survive today - such as food, clothing and in some parts of the world, building materials for our homes. The bad thing is that animals who were "special" in the hunters eyes, almost died out because of too much hunting. So today hunting is forbidden in order to reduce the amount of animals to the next generation. If we also don't manage to save the rainforests, the climate of the world is threatened.
Same as pollution, which is a serioust threat to our enviroment today. Because of chemical waste from fabrics and farming and from the amount of gasoline our cars and machines let out, damaging of air, soil and water is happening.

I agree with Arne Næss and I like how he thinks,  but I don't think I can make a difference just because I want to. There are so many people in this world who are probably thinking that they can make a difference by skipping a flight to China or recycle everything when it comes to garbage, when there actually is a slight chance because gasoline and pollution is happening everyday in all sorts of countries.
